Saratov Lemonary and other attractions

Saratov, I was passing through the city, stopped for a couple of days to see the sights. There are many buildings of ancient architecture in the city center, including temples, for example, the church "Assuage my Sorrows", and this is the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul; Saratov Conservatory named after Sobinova, one of the oldest in the country; the technical school where Gagarin studied and a lot of different kinds of interesting sculptural compositions - such trams ran through the streets of Saratov in the 1930s, a monument to the Saratov accordion, and to the policeman, and this is a monument to the song "There are so many golden Lights...", an unmarried young man is expecting a girl, an employee of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Vodostok", and this sculpture is installed on the embankment, called "Post-war Childhood", there is also a monument to classmates not far away, and while walking along the Volga, my attention was attracted by a very interesting tree with long appendages, if anyone knows what kind of tree it is, please write in the comments.

I saw even more interesting plants in the Lemonarium. In addition to the unique lemon varieties bred by Saratov breeders, about 40 more species of exotic plants grow here.

And now more about the sights and about Saratov Lemonary.

A sculptural composition in the center of Saratov dedicated to the song, which is considered an unofficial city anthem. It is made in the form of a figure of a young man with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. The guy is waiting for his beloved under the clock. The monument was erected in 2009 at the expense of the MegaFon company. For several years of its existence, the statue has literally become overgrown with legends.

Another city symbol – the Saratov accordion was awarded a separate monument on Kirov Ave. The sculpture in the form of a cheerful harmonica player sitting on a bench under a lantern, performing fervent melodies, became a gift from Express-Volga Bank for the City Day in 2009. Passers-by are often photographed next to the musician, as he has already become a local landmark.

The temple, named after the icon "Quench my sorrows" with the image of the Mother of God. The structure was erected at the beginning of the XX century according to the project of P. M. Zybin. It is a tent church. In Soviet times, the city planetarium worked in the building, so it is quite well preserved. In 2006-2008, restoration work was carried out, after which the facade again shone with bright colors.

The Conservatory was founded in 1912, it is one of the very first higher educational institutions in Russia where musical art was taught. Initially, the institution was named after Tsarevich Alexei, but in Soviet times it was renamed in honor of L. V. Sobinov, a famous opera singer, one of the best representatives of the classical school. The conservatory building was built in 1902 by architect A. Y. Yang.

The lemonarium is a botanical garden where several dozen species of exotic plants grow. Special climatic conditions have been created on its territory, which allow tropical plants to feel quite comfortable. In gloomy and gloomy weather, a visit to this place will bring a lot of positive emotions, as it will allow you to be transported to the land of summer and sun at least for a short time.
