Reviews on the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS

I bought the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS as a replacement for my old Nikon. The camera really pleased right away, pleased with both the price and the features. When I bought it the first thing I did was to look through everything.

I found many great features which many others do not. I found a 10X optical zoom, clearer photos even if your hands are shaking, also there is an automatic determination of the mode, well, lighting and everything, there is a function of recognizing faces and much more. In general, the camera is really worth its money and can easily compete with more advanced models.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a good camera! After our usual soapboxes, it delights with its 10x zoom and ease of photography. The settings are very easy for a beginner like me. I take photos mostly of my children or relatives. We chose based on many parameters - the number of megapixels, shooting quality, ease of use. I almost never use auto mode, I prefer manual mode. I was upset at first that the size is not as small as some, but then I got used to it. It fits in my hand like a normal size. I also didn't really like that it has batteries, but then I found the advantage of this - you can carry extra batteries. It is not very good with batteries, but then I found it a plus, so I can carry extra ones.

The Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is the best camera in its class. I recently purchased this device. I was attracted by the 10x zoom and the large screen. I am so happy with my purchase. Good focus, a lot of modes and manual settings, a large resolution sensor and a huge optical zoom allows you to take great pictures. Very user-friendly interface, which will be nice for people who are not familiar with technology. About the quality of photos. With the automatic settings noise can appear. With the ability to adjust the manual mode photos are great. It is also important to note the advantages of excellent macro photography. The good thing is that the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is powered by two regular AA batteries. This is a big plus for those who like to travel. It is true that the batteries run out quickly, it is the batteries that save it. Overall, the camera is very good. The high quality of pictures and the relatively low price makes it the best in its class.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a versatile camera! Of course it's not worth talking about all the specs, you can look it up on the internet, but here I will lay out all the pros and cons of this model. Of course the pros outweigh the cons - first, clear images from all angles and fast movements. Secondly, the multifunctionality, there is always a mode for the best transfer of colorful images. Thirdly, convenient and practical.
Well, and the only drawback - the price! Although, to consider it a disadvantage, I'm in a hurry, this is Canon! More important than the quality of pictures can not be. So if you want a great camera for a long time, this is it.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a great camera. Picked a camera with the ability to record video for at least half an hour, not too focused on the price. This model is not expensive, which is amazing for the quality of both the camera itself and the pictures and videos it captures. 10 Megapixel, 10 quadrant optical Zoom, flip out flash, tripod mount, large screen, easy to use, a lot of programs, as well as automatic macro, portrait, etc. in Auto mode shoots very good pictures. Very decent video up to 60 minutes. Powered by regular batteries, I use rechargeable batteries, lasts a long time. As a consequence of all these great qualities, not too compact. A lot of joy for a small price!

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a great camera! At first I wanted a DSLR, but since prices are sky rocketing, I decided on this model. This is my first camera, but the first day it felt like I had it for 100 years. It is very easy to use. There are a lot of modes, but at the same time the manual settings are very handy. All in all, I recommend it - for this price you won't find anything better in life!

The first Canon point-and-shooter I've ever owned. The criteria for choosing this camera were: a large aperture, battery power, decent zoom, manual settings for aperture and shutter speed. Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a great camera. Pictures for a point-and-shoot are great. The moderately narrow-angle lens allows you to take pictures without much distortion around the edges of the picture. I mean, my next Canon PowerShot SX220 HS has that problem. As for the quality of pictures, the camera is a thing! Wherever you see a new camera for yourself when choosing a point-and-shoot - do not regret it. The only minus for me was the fact that the video could not zoom. Well, more stressed by its size and weight, in a shirt pocket can not put. I would also say that my camera takes a very long time to charge the flash. The small matrix allows you to shoot with normal quality only at ISO 100. Everything above that is noise.

The advantages of the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS:

- Light output. At this zoom, just great.
- Zoom. 10x is a lot, and if not enough - there is a digital up to 40x. There have been no cases of shortage.
- Shutter Speed Range. For a point-and-shooter that you can slip in your pocket, more than great. I did not even expect.
- Hole for a tripod. Without it, though, with such a range of shutter speeds would be strange.
- Big screen. I did not have to get used to it.
- Perfectly working ISO 400.
- Dimensions. Can't fit in your pants pocket, but it fits in your jacket.
- Flash. When it's not necessary - will not work, and stronger than many will, but regulated well.
- AA batteries are a huge plus. I'm not sorry to carry a pack of batteries in stock, and when you plan to hike / long shooting can immediately take 2-3 sets of batteries thicker.
- Macro photography. Of course there are better ones, but if you want to shoot an A4-sized catalog or just watch it on the monitor, it will do. And to shoot for 10-meter posters really not too lazy to buy a DSLR with the right lens.
- It will have a manual focus.
- Price.

Disadvantages of Canon PowerShot SX120 IS:

- Auto mode. The hell knows what, a good picture - one in a hundred.
- Sensor. Small, warms up quickly (especially at slow shutter speeds). From her and the next minus.
- Noise. Noise reduction more or less copes, although the colors are sometimes distorted very strongly.
- There is no case in the kit. With such a display and such a flimsy in my opinion curtains - a must.

Comment: I should tell you right away - the camera is manual. If you need something to shoot in constant auto mode for a lot of pictures, then I advise to get something else, here it is nothing. Get a point-and-shoot for 3-4 thousand and you will save money, and it will shoot better in auto mode. I use this camera for more than three months, I took it as a compact camera with a good zoom and the ability to put it in a jacket pocket / small bag, mainly to shoot landscapes, and sunsets / sunrises. Expectations were completely fulfilled, even with the top. The range of shutter speeds lets you do whatever you want, the flash is perfectly adjustable, macro which I didn't even think about when buying turned out to be great. I can use the CD with software that comes with it. I'm happy that I can't shoot panoramas either, it's a piece of cake with a pretty good stitching tool. I was also happy about the tripod holder - the camera made friends with an aluminum tripod, which I had lying around without use, and also with a case from an old Micron. My overall impression of the camera is very positive and it fits me so well that I do not even want to look at other cameras. By the way, the wheel is very handy, you get used to it really quickly and the easily accessible CHDK is also in my opinion not a bad thing. If you decide to shoot with your hands on a compact soapbox - this camera is a very decent and not too expensive choice.

I think many of us like to take pictures of something - children, animals, nature. Until recently, unfortunately, I did not have such an opportunity. Our family had a regular "soapbox" with film in the closet, if anyone remembers them. But this winter I really wanted a camera, as I had lived without one before! You know, the choice in the stores is huge, I do not know what to buy, so I chose the reviews of real people, including from this site fotoloid.ru. So I came across one great inexpensive model, namely Canon PowerShot SX120 IS. I asked around the stores, and they all praised this particular model. I took the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS home and started trying it out. Took about 30 pictures and my batteries were dead! The seller advised me to buy AA batteries. To be honest, I was already not happy about the purchase, but then a friend advised me to buy a battery charger and charge the batteries. I shot all day, about 1000 frames! So if you want to buy this model, buy stronger batteries. You should also buy a bigger memory card right away, the kit comes with a very small one only 168mb. As for the quality of photos, it's great! No noise, the pictures are great even in the dark. Not all, but it rather depends on the photographer. For me, for example, all at once were blurry, but now the photos are getting pretty good. What amazes me even more is the quality of video. My acquaintance has a video camera, but the quality is almost the same, again it depends on who is shooting. So, if you need a quality, inexpensive camera, I highly recommend to look at the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS - good for beginners! Deciding to find a decent digital camera, for relatively little money and with better functionality than the usual "point-and-shoot" cameras, my choice fell on Canon SX120IS. This solid looking camera was lightweight and handy. The big 3 inch screen perfectly conveys color, built-in accelerometer rotates photos to the right angle. Very pleased with the 10x optical zoom, the photos remained clear and bright. Standard modes of shooting I'm not particularly pleased, all fairly standard, but the manual mode is just a godsend. Learning the basics of photography in manual mode will give you great pictures.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS - great value for money. Hello all! In a few words I want to share my impressions of buying another one of CANON's cameras. To begin with, the instruction manual is written in understandable language, which is very important these days. Even a teenager can understand how to use this camera within an hour. I often like to take photos of landscapes and noisy parties, but I also often have to shoot people and things in motion, and the ISO Auto turns out so sharp. For me, this is not insignificant. In Canon PowerShot SX120 IS quite a lot of features, to be honest I haven't even used all of them. In general, what I want to tell you, this device is worth the money spent on it.

What can I say about Canon cameras in general? Quality mechanics, great optics, easy to use, lots of different settings. And Canon PowerShot SX120 IS combines all these qualities, plus a small price compared to other ultrazooms, a stylish and very modern design, and size - a little more than a normal "point-and-shoot", but smaller than a "normal" ultrazoom. The quality of photos is quite good, to practice before buying a DSLR - most suitable, a lot of settings, good screen, I do not want to shoot. I liked the fact that the power supply from the two AA batteries (or batteries), if anything, bought in the nearest kiosk, and go on snapping. The quality of workmanship is amazing - nothing knocks, does not fall off, after my SONY soapbox - heaven and earth. In my opinion, it's the best model for people who don't need a "soapbox" anymore and still need a DSLR.

Canon PowerShot SX120 IS is a camera for the family. I bought it a little over two years ago. I have not regretted the purchase, now I have taken hundreds of photos with this camera, good photos. The price seemed to be good for me at the time, but now it is a little cheaper. What I wanted to mention is the big optical zoom of 10 times! At the same time it captures beautifully at small distances. Large screen that allows you to immediately look at all the details of the picture taken. To manage it there is a wheel, which is very easy to control, photos are scrolled quickly. Easy to use auto mode, just shoot without any adjustments, but if you're not a beginner, there is a manual mode that allows you to dream. I had one problem with the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS - I could not find a suitable case, well, I think it's because I live in a place where it is difficult to get anything at all.
