Canon PowerShot A470 camera - review

The PowerShot A470 is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera that has a compact body and is available in several colors: blue, red, orange and gray.

The camera is equipped with Face Detection and Motion Detection, Hi ISO Auto function, red-eye suppression, compatible with SD, SDHC, MMC, MMCplus, HC MMCplus memory cards. The camera is powered by AA batteries. Great camera! The camera is great in general. It has a Zoom of 3.4 x 7.1 mega pixels of course it's not a camera for professional photography, but it will do for self shooting! The camera runs on regular alkaline batteries, there is a standard flash drive for 500mb but it is small, I recommend buying 4GB, with the camera included yet comes USB cord, and video cable that allows you to connect the camera to a big screen ie TV. The camera is convenient, reliable, it has four shooting functions, i.e. 3 photos and 1 video. The camera also has Smileshot, which means it recognizes faces. Built-in photo corrector. Recording video with sound, by the way the video is of good quality. This camera can easily be taken on vacation or on a trip. I bought it a couple of years ago, it has not broken even once, even if I have fallen down many times, but that is probably the only good thing about it. The quality of photos is very poor, my parents have kodak older than ours for 2 years, but the photos are clear, beautiful, bright. Another drawback is the very high power consumption, the batteries last about an hour, and if you usually take only Energizer or Duracell, the rest do not even turn on. At first we bought a camera Canon Power Shot A450 - we liked it very much ease of use and quality photos, but after a year we sank it in the Mediterranean Sea. After that we decided that it's better than good, so before the next trip we bought this model, its price was very affordable, it has more pixels - 7,1, and it's easy and unpretentious in handling.

What else do I like about this camera? The batteries are standard "finger type" batteries that are easy to find anywhere and recharge without any problems and the flash drive is also standard unlike "Sony" for which you had to buy a special flash drive as the consultant told us. Our camera is so easy to use that our oldest daughter uses it all the time taking pictures of everything around her, herself, toys, etc. And this camera is "unkillable", we also drowned it, now in the Red Sea, immediately removed the batteries, we thought it was "dead", but when it was turned on a month later - it worked, though not all functions, but it takes pictures. Our youngest daughter so many times dropped it and threw, it is already all chipped and scratched, but it has served us faithfully for 5 years. The only drawback - it pauses for a couple of seconds when taking pictures with the flash, but we are used to it. I would like to add that one of my friends sister gave the camera "Sony", 3 times more expensive than ours, it is "abstruse", with a bunch of features that she still does not understand, most of her photos are very cloudy. So my second friend, we went and bought a family-tested Canon, the model does not remember, but it is also very easy to manage and the quality of photos is good. In general over the years I have come to the conclusion that most people, including me, do not need a bunch of extra features. If you want to buy a camera as a gift for your parents, children or some elderly relatives, then Canon is the best choice!
