Reviews of the Canon Ixus 185 camera

Good afternoon. Everyone is at heart, at least a little, but a photographer. It's just that someone turns it into a passion - he acquires an infinite number of lenses, filters, flashes, tripods, etc.

And someone is content with a modest "soap dish" and it's enough for him. I'm more of the second category. The main requirement for "my" camera is the ability to accurately capture small objects - stamps, coins, badges. According to this criterion, the Canon Ixus 185 was chosen. The consultant at the store said it was right for me. It is quite budget-friendly, compact, in a strict color scheme. The camera comes with almost everything you need - instructions, battery, charging, cord. It is a pity that there is no memory card - you will have to spend more. The lens extends far enough and in the "excited" state looks like this. Function management is quite convenient. All the buttons are clear and there are not very many of them. I figured it out almost immediately, even without instructions. Well, then the practical application began. First the street - brings it closer well. But due to the fact that there is a lot of automation in the device, it focuses on those objects that it chooses. Sometimes you have to focus 3-4 times. Indoors - also within the norm - but likes good lighting. The flash does not save much. And finally the saddest thing. Micro and macro photography is what it was purchased for. From a height of 20-30-40 centimeters, a small object does not focus at all. If you bring it up to 7-10 centimeters, problems with lighting begin, the object turns out to be convex, like from a "laughing room". Only it's never funny(. It was decided to refer to the instructions- such a volume is as much as a centimeter in thickness. Well, it certainly says how to defeat this attack. Yeah, right now. There are only 9 pages in Russian. And they tell about completeness, battery charging, date-time setting and other trifles. In general, I will look for a less automatic camera, with a lot of manual settings.

A friend gave me a camera to use for a few days. What can I say about him. He's not bad. Compact, lightweight, takes photos and videos well. Minus one. There is no cover. There was such a cool hard case on my camera, throw it into the wall, nothing will happen. I gave my pink camera to my mother, as soon as I get to her, I will definitely take a photo and write a review, also canon. The on/off button is located at the top. The mode switch is nearby. At the bottom, the hole for the USB wire is closed with a gray lid. G When the objects are turned on, it leaves. It is also not very big, everything is compact and convenient. The settings are very easy to understand. Everything is accessible and understandable. The red button is the record button. The menu is signed, you need to manage the menu using a round joystick. The flash can be adjusted by pressing the button on the right. To view the photo, click the box with the arrow. Even a child will figure it out. In my profile there are a lot of reviews on children's toys, accessories, everything for mom's beauty and not only. Subscribe and don't miss the new one. If my review helps someone, I will be pleased.

My old Canon camera has served for more than 5 years and kept charging very poorly, and is morally outdated. Therefore, it was decided to purchase a camera of the same brand instead. The choice fell on the Canon Ixus 185. I liked the model and the budget price. I must say right away that in general the purchase was successful. I will show in the review examples of photos in sunny and cloudy weather. I will immediately warn you that there is no memory card included, you will have to buy it, since there is zero built-in memory. Also, the manufacturer did not even attach a USB cord to transfer photos to the computer. The camera is very light: the weight is only 126 grams. You can put it in your pocket. It won't take up much space on trips. The case material is plastic, but nothing creaks and the assembly is of high quality. There are only two buttons on the upper part of the case. The power button is conveniently recessed and will not accidentally turn on itself. Canon Ixus 185 also shoots video, for which it has a separate button, the video is not bad for a soap dish if you shoot in sunny clear weather. At the bottom of the camera there is a hole for mounting to a tripod and a compartment for a memory card and battery. I am currently using an 8 Gb SDHC memory card. As soon as you turn on the camera, the Easy Auto mode automatically triggers In principle, this is convenient if you don't bother. But you can set all the settings in the camera manually, for this you will have to search for information on how to do it on the Internet, there is not a word about the settings in the attached instructions. I haven't gone into manual settings yet. Canon also has a timer. A fully charged battery is enough for me for about 4 days of moderate shooting, I take 50 photos every day. It takes about 45 minutes to charge, but the first time after purchase, the battery was charged for a long time about 2.5 hours. The disadvantage of this camera is that when connected to a computer, it does not charge via a USB cord. Also, among the disadvantages of the Canon Ixus 185 camera, I can note not very clear and faded pictures in poor light. And now let's look at examples of photos that were taken using Canon Ixus 185. All photos were taken in Easy Auto mode without manual settings. The camera is quite simple and even a schoolboy will figure it out. You can shoot videos. For better professional pictures, of course, it is better to buy something more expensive.

I've been using the camera for a month now. There are many adjustment options. Without detailed instructions, presumably available for download on the Internet, only an extensive attempt and "experimentation" will help. The attached quick guide is really nothing more than a quick guide to the most important functions. I suspect that the camera adjusts the sharpness at one or two points depending on the object to be photographed. And what seems to me very practical, she is "looking" for a reference surface that is not necessarily in the center of the image in order to capture the brightness. When photographing documents from a distance of about 40 cm, even light wobblers are deformed and a sharp image is preserved. The disadvantage is that I consider the processing time to be about 2 seconds after shooting, until the finished image is displayed for a short time on the display for control. But when you get used to it, you can live with it well. And for fast serial shooting and the like, I would probably still choose another camera. I definitely want to add an extension. The battery lasts for quite a long time - about 200; 300 flash shots; but when a low battery warning comes, it ends pretty quickly. 2; maximum 3 flash images - that's all. Therefore, I recommend ordering a spare battery together. And with the help of a few exercises, battery replacement is possible in about 20 seconds; even for the inexperienced, maybe a minute is absolutely acceptable.
