Have a great day to all the readers of my reviews!

The EOS 300D model was put on sale by the leading company for the production of photo and video equipment - Canon, at the end of August 2003. In addition to all other advantages, this camera, for the first time among digital SLR cameras, cost less than a thousand dollars, which also had a positive effect on the popularity of the new model.

By this time, I had been thinking about switching to digital technology for a long time, and the film, which was screwed up during development in KODAK Pro Lab, on Mosfilmovskaya, became an additional "sitmool".

There were no worthy alternatives to Canon in those years, as there are none to this day: Canon is one of the oldest Japanese companies that started with the production of photographic equipment and remains a leader in this direction. In addition, in the event of a breakdown, it is the equipment of this manufacturer that can be repaired with the least problems.: ACC and just Canon photo-video repair shops are in many cities.

The EOS 300D, in addition to the aforementioned low cost, also has a number of advantages, expressed in ease of operation, sufficiently low noise of the matrix produced by Canon and the versatility of the batteries: the standard battery from the previously purchased Canon MV650i camcorder was also suitable for use in this DSLR. And in the next one, too.

The camera was purchased in a whale version, complete with a fairly average EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, which has not too outstanding capabilities both in changing the focal length and in the aperture. But, nevertheless, it is quite suitable for the first time, for the transition from less modern photographic equipment.

The first experiments with the new technology showed some limitations of the capabilities of the whale lens and after a short time a high-power "fifty kopecks" was purchased - Canon EF 50 mm F1.4 usm.

The first digital DSLR worked for about four years. During this time, about ten thousand pictures were taken, which corresponds to the shutter resource. And almost upon reaching the "magic figure" of 10000, the mirror lifting shift failed. Which actually served as the starting point for the transition to a newer and more advanced model - Canon EOS 50D
