Reviews of the Canon G9 Mark II camera

Good afternoon! Today I want to leave my opinion about the Canon G9x mark II camera.

We bought this baby 3 months ago. I like to take pictures, I do it often, but lately only on the phone, because carrying a heavy DSLR with a small child is not always convenient, and photos on an iPhone phone are not always obtained in the desired quality. Therefore, it was decided to sell our Nikon mirror, which had been lying dead for a couple of years and replace it with a compact camera, photos from which can be immediately transferred to the phone.

We chose between the now-hyped Olympus and Canon. According to all the characteristics and reviews, Canon was not inferior to its more expensive counterparts, but it was much cheaper.

I take photos in Auto mode, without bothering at all, maybe if I figure out the settings, the photos will be even more interesting, but we still have enough of what we have.

Of the minuses , I want to highlight the following:

Still, sometimes you want to have a folding screen for selfies, but this is definitely a trifle.
With the video shooting mode, it is not always possible to turn it off with a button, sometimes you have to turn off the entire camera, some kind of glitch.
Well, I can't particularly note the quality of the video shooting, there is no stabilization of anything. I don't know, but the videos on my phone are usually better.

Many complain about the battery. I don't know what they compare it with, but he never let us down, although he was on trips where they took pictures constantly from 9 am to 7 pm.

A big plus is that the battery can be charged separately, as well as from the selected mini-USB.

Bottom line: very satisfied with the purchase. The only thing is that we haven't tried printing photos yet, so I can't comment on it.

Happy with her difficult choice. Now most of the photos have moved to the phone, mainly because of the convenience that you can take a photo and immediately publish it, and the processing tools are always there at hand. But no matter how convenient and modern the phone is, the quality of the pictures is still inferior to the camera, and sometimes it's just nice not to hold the phone in your hands, but somehow postpone communication with the outside world, having the opportunity to capture this very "outside world".

I chose the camera for a long time, comparing the parameters, rushing from one extreme – I take a loan, but I immediately buy super minced meat in all directions, and up to the simplest, I'm not shooting a pro. The G9X became an alternative, and the final solution to my torments, a balance of quality and cost, although I won't say that it cost a budget, I bought it half a year ago for 29,000 money.

The first thing that caught my eye when I unpacked it at home was the brown inserts, they not only look stylish, but also perform a very specific function, having a rough surface, make the process of holding in the hand more comfortable, fingers do not slip off.

The kit does not include a case, so I also had to pay separately for it, but I do not regret, the case is really necessary to keep the equipment in working condition for a longer time, and I take it with me on different trips that do not always go along a smooth route, and the case is an additional protection.

It is on magnetic Velcro and there is a special notch for the lens, the cord itself does not come from the case, but from the camera itself, there is just a hole in the case itself, which is just made for it.

We start with charging. I've always wondered why, when now all the batteries are built-in, which are enough to plug into an outlet with a cord, canon does everything with separate charging units and a separate module that needs to be charged. To charge, you need to pull the battery itself out of the camera by pressing the latch. It is easily removed, by the way, a memory card is located in the same compartment.

It takes several hours to fully charge, usually I leave it overnight. I realized why it was done this way when I went camping with him, without the possibility of access to an outlet, and took an additional charged battery. At some point, I just swapped them and continued to take pictures, if it had been built-in, then such manipulation would have been impossible.

If you need a tripod, then there is a connector for it next to the compartment on the back. I have had such a need so far only once, easily connected.

Of course, with a tripod, the frames are more seasoned and voluminous, but I haven't got my own yet, and I've used someone else's a couple of times.

The control itself is standard, to play the already captured materials, you need to press the leftmost button.

The screen with the photo is touch-sensitive, I tried to capture how the frames move, the feeling that they are simply connected.

It reacts clearly to touches, does not hang and there are no fake clicks. You can easily enlarge the image and understand the quality of the frame taken.

There are different shooting modes, if you are a pro, you can set all the indicators in manual mode, I am not a pro - auto mode is my everything. Switch, as in any classic version of Canon.

Zoom in and remove the focus using the slider to the right and left, if the desired distance is reached and it is necessary to add clarity, then click in the middle of this button.

By the way, you can also zoom in and out using the torsion of the central ring of the lens itself.

You can install the application and immediately transfer it from the photo to it, but I still won't install it, so I use either a cord or pull out a memory card. But this button would just help with connecting to the application.

The USB connectors are located on the opposite side and are covered with plugs.

If you are in auto mode, then at a more or less dark time, the flash will be connected automatically, in order to turn it off or on, you can use this switch. Well, the very first button to work, but the last one in my review is On/Off.

The control is essentially standard, of course there are moments that were added under the requirement of the standards of the time, but the main part is in the classic version of canon, very similar to the model that I had 15 years ago.

I am happy with the choice, if immediately after the purchase I was still strangled by a toad, then after a couple of days I kicked it. Yes, it is not cheap, but it is as comfortable, convenient and practical as possible.

Excellent premium camera. Usage experience: a month or more. I bought this camera six months ago. I immediately noticed that the camera was made in Japan, all the components are also either Japan or the Philippines. The build quality and materials are very good. The dimensions are small, which is very convenient when traveling. The functionality and control menu of the camera are simple and clear. When working in auto mode, photos are of decent quality, something in between a soap dish and a SLR camera, but still probably closer to a SLR camera. When photographing in motion, it turns out blurry. In other modes, the photos are very good, especially pleasantly surprised by the quality of the photo when shooting at night. Also, probably one small disadvantage is not a very capacious battery. One charge is enough for about 200-250 photos. In general, there are a lot more dances, I advise you to buy this camera.
