Canon PowerShot SX150 IS - reviews

The Canon PowerShot SX150IS camera is a camera for both beginners and advanced users.Description of shooting modes with photo examples.Makes it possible to get pictures with various effects without using Photoshop.
I bought a Canon PowerShot SX150IS camera almost three years ago. I bought it almost immediately after the birth of the child, in fact, this was the main reason for buying it, because the lion's share of all the pictures are pictures of my baby Smile.At first, she was filmed ten times a day, then once every few days, and now, when she is almost three years old, the speed of shooting has slowed down to several times a month.

I must say right away that I am not fond of photography, I was fond of it once in my school years, when the technique was completely different, when after sitting in the bathroom with a red light for a long time, bathing photo paper in baths with developer and fixator, a cup of water was brought out into the light, in which photos float and an equally fascinating process began their drying on the gloss...

Therefore, I will describe my Canon PowerShot SX150IS on behalf of a simple average user, which I am.

I'll start with the main thing - I'm happy with this camera. I practically don't see any shortcomings in it.

Unless the flash takes too long to charge before shooting.

The camera can not boast of being too small in size, there are smaller models.Its dimensions are 113.3 x 73.2 x 45.8 mm; weight with battery and memory card 317 g.
The case has a "silver metallic" color, finger marks do not remain on it.

On the front panel there are quick access keys to the photo viewing mode, to the video shooting mode, the control disk and the menu.

On top of the trigger keys, power on and the mode switching drum.The drum is quite tight, so you can't switch it with one finger.

There is a battery compartment and a memory card slot at the bottom. I use VARTA 2100 mAh batteries. The following memory cards are supported without limiting their capacity: SD, SDHC,SDXC, Eye-Fi.

Here are the technical specifications:

• 1/2.3" CCD sensor (5.9x4.4 mm), 14 MP;
• DIGIC IV processor;
• 12x Canon Zoom Lens 5.0—60.0 mm (28-336 mm in 35mm equivalent), f/3.4—5.6;
• video with sound: 1280×720, 640x480, 30 frames per second;
• optical stabilization (floating element in the lens design);
• TTL-focusing, face recognition, 9-point autofocus system (with a fixed center or on the frame of the face memory function (Face Select and Track));
• Display: TFT LCD with a diagonal of 3", 230,000 pixels;
• focusing distances: from 1 cm (macro mode) to infinity;
• exposamer: estimated measurement (by the autofocus frame of the face recognition function), center-weighted integral measurement, point measurement (by the center point);
• exposure correction: -2 to +2 EV, 1/3 EV step;
• ISO photosensitivity: 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 ( as a story program);
• electronic-mechanical shutter;
• shutter speed range: 1/2500—15 C;
• built-in flash: auto, forced on/off, slow synchronization, red-eye correction;
• flash range: 0.5—3 m (wide angle), 0.5—2 m (teleposition).

What I like about the Canon PowerShot SX150IS is that this camera has many shooting modes.When switching from mode to mode, a brief description of the selected mode is displayed on the display.

I will list what shooting modes it has and give some examples of photos:

- Simple mode (simplified shooting for beginners);

- Auto mode (automatic detection of the scene and optimal settings);

- Software auto-exposure;

- Auto exposure with exposure priority;

- Auto exposure with aperture priority;

- Manual mode (setting the aperture and shutter speed for maximum flexibility);

- Standard mode;

- SCN mode (my most frequently used!) - the settings are automatically set depending on the story program you have chosen.

The following plot programs are embedded in the SCN mode:

- "portrait";

- "landscape";

- "children and animals" (for objects in motion);

- "intelligent shutter" (face detection is used for automatic shooting);

- "insufficient illumination" (getting clear pictures in low light conditions - just choose a light source - daylight, cloudy day, shooting with an incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, etc.) Here is an example of a photo with insufficient illumination (incandescent lamp).
