I thought about buying a camera for a long time. There was no doubt that I needed it, but which model to choose - a soap dish or a mirror. Having properly monitored the Internet, I first decided on a company — Canon is one of the leaders in the field of photographic equipment.
And my existing "experience of communication" with Canon technology spoke definitely in its favor. Then there were seemingly endless comparisons of the characteristics of different camera models. Because I am not a guru of photography and have only the knowledge of an ordinary person (who still has not given up on himself and plans to study the artistic exposition and the importance in choosing the aperture). That's how I found the Canon PowerShot SX170 IS.
More than 6 months have passed since the purchase and I decided it was time to write about it. Here is the full list of characteristics:

My impressions. I will take the liberty to say that this is one of the best models in this price category. Despite the abundance of settings, the camera is intuitive.
What I use most often: When I don't want to bother, I use LIVE mode. I like it much more than the notorious AUTO. When I take photos for reviews, I change the resolution in the settings so that the photos don't have to be reduced later. Depending on the lighting, I adjust the flash power.
I don't want to mislead anyone and present the Canon PowerShot SX170 IS as a super camera. It's super for its price. He does not have a heavy—duty battery - an average one, although you can change the settings a little, turn on eco mode, but still. My image quality has noticeably improved after I got thoroughly used to it, but you still can't insure against noise. It is convenient to hold the camera in your hands. The buttons are arranged in such a way that you won't accidentally press them.
Conclusion: I recommend this camera to those who do not make any special requirements for it, because it is simple and convenient, and to those who want to experiment a little, but do not dare to buy a "DSLR" yet.
The Canon PowerShot SX170 IS camera is one of the best for beginners. This Canon model was and remains my first camera. From the looks of it, she looks quite an important person. The lens is covered with plates that are easy to push apart with your finger. If you get bored, then there is an opportunity to play. The camera itself is quite light, there is a loop, with the help of it you can hang the equipment on your hand. But it's wide, so it's better to hold it in your hands. The quality of photos for such a photo assistant is 4 out of 5. There is some smudging, but not scary considering the cost. The photos are good during the day, but at night I was shocked. I didn't know that such a cheap model could shoot so well, it's good for me. In general, I estimate the camera itself at 8.5/10. I advise you to buy safely for novice photographers.
